The interface for adding a static host entry to a DHCP server exists but there is no code written to implement it.

This could be more complex for some areas. In particular, a HostAP access point adds all of it's addresses into a range statement. What dhcp does if you also put an IP from a range statement into a fixed-address statement is uncertain. If this breaks, then you either have to take the IP out of a range (split the range in two for example) or pick the lowest IP and move the range up by one. This means the end user can't pick which IP is going to be assigned statically.

Most of these problems will go away if we move to PPPoE-L2TP and will only exist for internal managed networks, of which we should have very few.
